Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo, A Special Block Screening

I've never attended a block screening of a Philippine movie before. So when I got an invitation to the sponsored screening of "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?" 
I was excited for obvious reasons but also a tad bit apprehensive since I had no idea
what people wore to these events. 

In the end, I settled for a simple red and black dress from Forever 21.

The event, held at the Shangri-la Cineplex Premier Theater was sponsored by Faces & Curves, 
owned by the husband and wife team, Dr. Jay and Dr. Sheila Recasata.
The lead stars of the movie, local heartthrobs Kim Chui and Xian Lim, are 
the major celebrity endorsers of Faces & Curves.
So, it was in their honor that the the special block screening was held.
Apart from Kim and Xian, the director of the film, Joyce Bernal, and other talents and executives of  Star Cinema were also in attendance.

With funny man and all-around celebrity Ramon Bautista, who authored the book on which the movie was based.

"Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?" (Why Doesn't Your Crush Have a Crush on You)  is a comedy-romance based on the best selling book of the same title written by Ramon Bautista. To be honest, I am not really an avid watcher of local films, but I must say this movie was relatable and really funny.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shook the entire world to it's core in the most unimaginable ways and as a result, abruptly changed our way of life. I'm sure most of us have been feeling stressed and overwhelmed by these sudden changes to our lifestyle, accompanied by the seemingly endless outpour of bad news. However, as humans, it is vital that we learn to adapt and try our best to cope with it. Now, I'm not saying that the virus is something we should accept as a permanent fixture in our society. Beauty Shots to Love

I love posing for beauty shots so when I get an invitation and my schedule allows it, I usually say yes. So I had one just recently with photographer Ronald Matanguihan at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI) . You would think that a beauty shoot is the kind you least need to prepare for because the photos are only from head to shoulder. That means there is no need to worry about your body being in shape and the clothes looking good on you, right? Post processing evened my skin tone, smoothened my hair, and took out the dark circles under my eyes. :) Well, yes but then again, beauty shots can actually be very unforgiving because they zoom in right at your face and skin and show all your imperfections! Hello, pores! Hi there, blemishes! Of course hardly anything ever gets printed in magazines without extensive post-processing.
