Beauty Shots to Love

I love posing for beauty shots so when I get an invitation and my schedule allows it,
I usually say yes.
So I had one just recently with photographer Ronald Matanguihan at the
Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI).

You would think that a beauty shoot is the kind you least need to prepare for because the photos are only from head to shoulder. That means there is no need to worry about your body being in shape and the clothes looking good on you, right?

Post processing evened my skin tone, smoothened my hair, and took out the dark circles under my eyes. :)

Well, yes but then again, beauty shots can actually be very unforgiving because they zoom in right at your face and skin and show all your imperfections! Hello, pores! Hi there, blemishes!

Of course hardly anything ever gets printed in magazines without extensive post-processing. I refer to the magic of Photoshop which can make virtually every one look flawless!

But if you don't like to look too "processed" in your pictures, I want to share some tips I've picked up here and there that can help keep your skin clear and camera-ready for that all important photo shoot.

Unedited, raw photo. See those dark circles under my eyes? I've had them since I was little! Anyone willing to share solutions?

1) Drink lots of water. It keeps you from looking dehydrated.

2) Eat more vegetables and fruits than meat. Since I started including more salads and fiber in my diet, my skin has cleared. Its true! Eating vegetables and fruits actually flushes out toxins from your body.

3) Cleanse your face thoroughly before bed no matter how tired you are at the end of the day. My regimen includes: Makeup remover, facial wash, clarifying lotion, and moisturizer. You should never go to bed with make-up on so make sure you remove it properly before going to bed.

I use Clinique Eye Makeup Remover
Maybelline Make up Remover (for the rest of my face)
Dove White Bar Soap
and
Clarifiance Lotion and a Vitamin-E Moisturizer from
Faces & Curves.
They work wonderfully on my skin!
